Organic Fertiliser-Skim Milk Powder

I mentioned in my last Blog about using Skim Milk Powder as an Organic Fertiliser for Potatoes.

Skim Milk Powder has useful amounts of Calcium, Phosphorus and Potash, all good for Root crops, as these Nutrients encourage root growth rather than top growth as Nitrogen does.

It pays to water the powder straight away as it can stagnate if left exposed to the sun for to long, even the powder that you put in a planting hole, water it to dissolve it into the soil.

Being Milk the powder has a high concentration of Proteins and Carbohydrates which are building blocks for soil microbes, so it is a fertiliser for the soil as well, something that is at the fore front of Organics, feed the soil so the soil can feed your plants.

A healthy soil produces healthy plants.

Be Happy,

Barry.
