Natural Weed Control

Weeds are a pain in the butt, they look unsitely they rob valuable nutrients and water from your plants, they harbour pests that you don't want in your garden.
So how do we get rid of them?
Prevention is better than cure in this case, mulch is the best weed suppressant around, lay plenty of it around your plants when you plant them. Probably the best and cheapest is newspaper or cardboard, if you use newspaper lay it at least eight pages thick and then cover it with bark, lawn clippings (not to thick though), leaves anything to cover the paper. Water the ground thoroughly before you lay the paper and wet the paper as well, I don't know how it works but you won't get any new weed germination using this method until you dig the soil again.
The paper-cardboard breaks down adding Organic Matter to the soil, it will increase your worm population as well. If you have a heap of weeds growing between your plant rows  just cut then down and lay the newspaper on top and mulch on top of that as I described and you will be weed free before you know it.
