Rock Dust is exactly that, ground up rock!, it is starting to become a staple with Organic Farmers, it boosts productivity and adds to the strength of the plant making them more pest resistant.
When its all said and done our soils are Rock Dust anyway, years of Volcanic Eruptions and the ash from these eruptions settling and creating what we call soil.
It isn't all that readily available yet but a Google search will find suppliers in your area. Some companies have blends that add other nutrients to this product. There are many testimonials appearing now as to its effectiveness and it is an inexpensive fertiliser that lasts a long time, its effects seem to be more than just the nutrients that it provides it seems to "balance" the soil.
I use Cracker Dust which is Rock Dust still with some smaller pieces of rock Incorporated, its very cheap and is available from most large Landscaping Suppliers, it is traditionally used to line drive ways.
