Natural Scale and Mealy Bug Cure

Scale and Mealy Bug are both Insects that suck the sap of the plant and can be hard to kill because they have a hard outer shell that repels most Insecticides.

Natural Soap and Oil sprays can be very effective as they leave a film on the Insect that actually suffocates them.

The White Oil sprays can be a little hard on the plant because they coat the plant with the same substance which can stress them especially if they are a bit dry, so make sure the the plant is in good condition first to avoid any burning and try to spray the pests only rather than the whole plant.

Avoid spraying in the heat of the day as well.

Try this recipe,
1 cup of Liquid Detergent,
1 cup of Cooking Oil, (Canola Oil seems to work well)

Mix together and use at the rate of one part of this brew to twenty parts of water and spray onto the Insects.

Be Happy,

Barry.
